I have two bare beds in my garden which I'd like to raise. I'm interested in using recycled/environmentally-friendly (and cheap) materials. I have access to some old used bricks (some broken) but I'd rather not use cement. An alternative would be responsibly-sourced railway sleepers - but access to the garden is through a narrow bending corridor so they would need to be cut down probably. I think car tires would look hideous! Any ideas? It would be great to be able to sit on the edge of the beds when I have garden parties.
